6.5 Million are screwing things for
114.5 Million, because they are unprepared for digital tv. This is why our economy, education and profitability are in the shitter. If we don't innovate or keep up with advancements, but instead just become complacent in everything we do then we deserve what we get.
Regardless of what anyone's theory with regards to recessions or depressions; media, gaming and entertainment will thrive. Especially when the employed and unemployed are looking for an escape from the day-to-day grind. It's about creating opportunity not stagnating innovation.
Digital TV move isn't just about cool pictures and sound, it creates an opportunity to build, distribute and sell new technology and equipment. If you take the current 2.5 million unemployed and ask them if they are willing to work in a US owned or operated company that builds Digitial TV's, then you'll get affordable labor. The cascading effects are obvious, truckers, sales people, etc.
Instead of extending the deadline four months, how about:
- keep the original cutoff
- create a 3 month broadcast on standard analog signals that informs people where to get a coupon or digital converter to watch tv.
- following that, broadcast with a 3 month message showing how long they have before the 90 day coupon expires.
- afterward, cut them off the nipple
Just my two cents, follow me on
